| *scheming on how to improve my Current Soap Situation* |
Idle Soap ASMR is frequently cited as a mind-numbing and bad game to play, and yeah it's barely a real game, but it has some lucrative GPT offers out there for something that just runs in the background with minimal interaction. Additionally, all of the later levels of the game are exactly the same with only the soap and cutter graphics swapped, so it's simple and merely requires a device you can leave sit and patience.
How to do it:
- The progress bar for each soap isn't moved by level-ups, but by the "hand" of layer upgrades (the "tier" balls) you're currently holding. So having a smart upgrade strategy and choosing wisely at level-ups is key to saving time not having to reach extra levels to clear junk out. Generally speaking, you want to permanently hold three of a kind (3OAK) of whatever the highest tier currently available to you is - this triggers level-up offers of either one of the next tier or three of the prior tier, which is by far the quickest way to progress. Merging them will make these offers go away if you don't have another 3OAK of the same tier on hand. Max your hand with these 3OAKs until you're out of space to hold three more, merge whatever is necessary at the next level-ups to clear space while holding on to one of the 3OAKs, then repeat the process. Once you have three of the next tier, you do it with that tier instead. There is no need to merge to level 6 to complete all the levels, just getting balls to level 5 will do all the way to soap #40.
- Your GPT offer will probably not have paid goals at every single level. One big key is you don't have to complete the levels you're not being paid for! You do have to make some progress in them to skip onward to the next level but you do not have to complete the soap. Click the little "i" icon on these levels by the locked Next Soap button to see exactly what the requirement is.
- When a level first starts, shovel your money into income while leveling up is still easy and quick. When it starts to take some time, switch to speed and cut upgrades. Also, whenever they appear, take the ads for Speed x2 and Auto Clicker (which automatically does the max manual speed-up taps for you on each cut). There is a possible glitch in the game where upgrades you take often get "stuck" (never go away) for the rest of the current play session (until you close the app and restart). So try to "lock" Speed x2 and Auto-Click in this way ASAP. Also, freely take the video upgrades for your base Speed level when available. When you get to about Speed 70 and have the x2 and Auto-Click boosts active, you're getting about one cut per second. The level-ups seem to cap out at 1000 cuts eventually (around level 35), which will be around 15 minutes per level with this going at Speed 70 (don't feel too bad about using this glitch, even with it going this game still takes freakin forever to get through, it just gives you much more of a fighting chance).
- Watch out for bad upgrades! Avoid "Golden Soap" and "Layer Level Up", which are temporary but will keep you from leveling up while they're active. If they get "locked" you will have to close the app and restart to progress. Income x2 is OK but definitely get Speed x2 and Auto Click locked first so it isn't eating slots they could be using.
- While you're watching optional ads, you continue to make progress with your cuts and income in the background (unless you're beginning a new level). So once you've got your sidebar boosts locked in, there's no reason not to take additional ads for your base levels of speed (I'd just do speed, use income to boost the other two as they come available).
- At some point in your chain of GPT offers, you may have a goal of having to buy something. Note where this is in the checklist and do it at the right time, as some sites or offers may disqualify you for doing it out of order! The only thing available in the game to buy is "ad coupons," which give you an instant upgrade instead of having to watch an ad. The thing is, once you buy these they HAVE to be used on the next upgrade, they can't be saved to be used strategically. So don't buy them until you're around level 60 or higher for speed for your current soap (where it gets really expensive) with a good chunk of it left to go, and just plow them all into upgrading that immediately. For me the cheapest option was 10 ad coupons for $2.09 USD, with a 30% off promo from Google Play and $1 back from the GPT site it was an actual cost of 67 cents in the end, well worth it to continue on to the later objectives paying $50 to $100 each.
- In general for each level at Speed and Cut Level 70 with the Speed x2 and Auto-Clicker upgrades active, you will be tear-assing about as much as you can tear-ass, I didn't notice going a few levels beyond this really making much of a difference in speed, I think it may be capped around this point even though you can continue on watching ads for more levels.
