YouGov Review

Today I'm happy to add a new entry to the "Highly Recommended!" tab (since there are so few of them).
YouGov is actually a legitimate polling firm that major UK and American media sources often use for opinion polls, and frequently hosts paid political surveys. But they're also a general market research / data analytics company, so you get a mix of government / news opinion surveys from media outlets and more traditional product and brand impression surveys from companies that sell stuff.
Surveys are short and tight, but 50 cents per day for about five minutes of work is all you should realistically expect here (though I've had days go up to $2 and $1-1.50 isn't all that rare). So it's another trickle, but you know how this works, combine all those trickles and get a reliable $10-30 USD per day coming in that can be done in your downtime with relatively little effort.
Anywell, on to the review.
NATURE OF WORK AND PAYMENT
It's nothing but surveys at YouGov, but they don't kick you to any third-party sites. They have their own internal system for all surveys that I've found to be one of the most smooth, quick and reliable of any survey site I've visited.
Screen-outs are also extremely rare. The site seems to focus more on good matches, and will then keep the survey assigned to you for a good amount of time (about one day) so you don't miss out on it. You also get email notifications of any new survey with a link you can click through for instant access.
Unfortunately, there is no cash payment option, the only real significant downside of YouGov. Surveys earn points that can be exchanged for gift cards or a Visa prepaid card. The maximum amount is $100, and you get the best deal if you wait to that amount to cash in your points. You get an even exchange rate of 1000 points for $1 in value if you wait it out for a $100 Amazon gift card or Visa prepaid card. You'll get a worse exchange rate at the lower values, something like 57000 points to get a $50 prepaid card or 30000 points for a $25 gift card.
SITE HISTORY / LEGITIMACY
YouGov is about as legit as it gets, they're a long-established polling and market research company based in London but with multiple offices all throughout the United States.
Their rating on SurveyPolice is a hair over 3.1 at the moment, which is good for that site. What complaints there are center more on the relatively low availability of surveys than any payout issues.
INTERNATIONAL ACCESS
Unfortunately, this is only available to residents of the UK, United States and Canada, according to their T&C. Also, Canadians who live in Quebec and Americans who live in Puerto Rico are not eligible.
FINAL VERDICT: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Though I'd like to see more surveys, a PayPal payout option and a consistent exchange rate, this is a very reliable little revenue rivulet that is recommended to anyone who lives in a qualifying territory.
